Nestlé Completes Expansion on South DC

Nestlé Philippines recently completed the expansion of its South Distribution Center located at the Calamba Premiere International Park in Barangay Batino, Calamba, Laguna. The development is part of Nestlé’s continuing effort to innovate, streamline and revolutionize distribution practices for improved efficiency in meeting customer needs.

Originally built in 1998, Nestlé’s South Distribution Center was part of an effort to centralize distribution in order to deliver fresher goods to consumers. Consequently, Nestlé gradually reduced its number of warehouses all over the country from 34 to its current count of 8.

With its 24/7 operation and state-of-the-art facilities which include 7 high selective and drivein racking system, Training Room, Finger docks for wing van operations, Fleet Management System, and a Repacking and Bundling Area, the expanded South Distribution Center is considered the first of its kind to be constructed. It has 5.3 hectares of open space and 2.2 hectares of covered area and a capacity of 33,000 pallet spaces. It houses 200 personnel, can accommodate 80 trucks per day and dispatches 1.5 million cases of goods per month. Since its completion, the expanded South Distribution Center has posted a 99%-100% inventory accuracy.

Apart from supplying outlets in Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao, Nestlé’s South Distribution Center also doubles as a storage facility with an ambient storage room for grocery products and a cold storage room for ice cream and other frozen goods.

The South Distribution Center is owned and operated by Fast Logistics Corporation, a third party service provider that shares Nestlé’s commitment of providing reliable and responsible service for total client satisfaction.
