NESCAFÉ Soundskool 2008: the journey to fame begins now

NESCAFE Soundskool, by far the biggest and most exciting college band competition in the country, opens its doors anew to talented young musicians who want to have that coveted crack at fame.

“This year’s contest promises to be more exciting than the previous ones as we expect more talented college bands from across the country to join,” says NESCAFE Soundskool marketing officer Yayin Bangcoro.

Now on its fourth run, the competition has served as the launchpad for the next big acts in the music industry. Its first winner, Hilera from Kalayaan College, is dubbed as one of the most promising bands in the country.

Exciting mentorship program
Bangcoro adds that what makes this year’s contest even more exciting for the participants is the mentorship program with the top bands.

“We have added more popular bands in under our mentorship roster and they will give advice and inspiration to the contestants,” she says.

The finalist-bands will also undergo a workshop in Boracay, which will also have the country’s most popular names in music as their facilitators.

Last year, members of Sandwich, Pedicab, Imago, and Sugarfree served as facilitators to the finalists.

Joining is easy
