NESCAFÉ opens 70th anniversary celebration at ASAP
NESCAFÉ recently opened its 70th anniversary celebrations by taking a musical trip down memory lane through a kick-off party held in the weekly TV show ASAP on ABS-CBN.
The show featured an explosive number of stars singing the well-loved music of NESCAFÉ through the year. Led by ASAP mainstay and NESCAFÉ talent Zsa Zsa Padilla, the performers included artists who sang NESCAFÉ jingles through the years such as song diva Kuh Ledesma, alternative and pop rock artists Barbie, Hale, Parokya ni Edgar, True Faith, MYMP, and pop siren Nina. They were joined by a star-studded ASAP roster that included Sarah Gernonimo, Jed Madela, Erik Santos, Sheryn Regis, Rachel Ann Go, Mark Bautista and Christian Bautista. Rounding out the dream cast were two of TV and film’s brightest celebrities, NESCAFÉ endorsers Toni Gonzaga and John Lloyd Cruz.
Zsa-Zsa Padilla introduced the segment in a talk show set-up, sharing warm cups of NESCAFÉ coffee with Toni, John Lloyd and Chito of Parokya ni Edgar. The 15-minute musical segment began when the strains of Parokya’s NESCAFÉ jingle started playing. The number then stepped back further in time as Kuh Ledesma sang her version of “One World of NESCAFÉ”. Taking the number to a more upbeat tone were Barbie and Sarah Geronimo singing “Good Day”, followed by another upbeat number with True Faith, Jed Madela and Ronnie Liang singing “Sumasarap ang Gising”.
Sharing the “One Moment” number was a powerhouse cast that included Hale (NESCAFÉ’s latest endorsers) young balladeers Mark Bautista and Christian Bautista, Erik Santos and the dynamic duo of MYMP. Following the boys was Nina who was joined by Sheryn Regis and Rachel Ann Go in singing “Simula,” which was originally sung by the pop siren a few years back.
But the most nostalgic number came when Zsa-Zsa Padilla sang “One World of NESCAFÉ,” the jingle that catapulted her career in the music industry.
The segment was capped by the introduction of NESCAFÉ’s newest song, “Tuloy ang Kwentuhan,” which was written specially for NESCAFÉ’s 70th anniversary. The entire cast of stars gathered onstage to end the number on a joyous note.
The new jingle currently plays on radio and TV.
