Laki sa Tibay (LST), a long-standing Nutrition Education Program by BEAR BRAND Powdered Milk Drink, provides upcycled chairs or “Tibay School Chairs” to selected elementary schools across the country. Made of used BEAR BRAND PMD foil packs, the Tibay School Chairs are called upcycled instead of recycled. Upcycling is the process of transforming waste materials into new items.

The new feature of the LST program was launched during its activation at the Sibul Elementary School in San Miguel, Bulacan on December 4, 2016. A total of 150 upcycled school chairs were delivered and gifted to the school as part of the Laki sa Tibay program.  The chairs can seat 300 school children and fill seven classrooms. Since then, 2,600 chairs from 5.4 tons of laminates have been produced and distributed.

More of these upcycled Tibay School Chairs will be donated as LST continues its run. The LST Program is committed to helping support school children in achieving their ambitions in life, believing that ang batang laki sa Tibay, may mararating sa buhay.” The program is truly a reflection of the Nestlé purpose of enhancing quality of life and contributing to a healthier future.
