Wellness Campus Program

According to data from the Food and Nutrition Research Institute (FNRI), 30% of Filipino children have been found to be stunted.* In response to this situation, we at Nestlé Philippines have leveled up our nutrition and physical education program, Nestlé Wellness Campus (NWC), which teaches public school students and their parents the value of proper nutrition and physical activity to address malnutrition. With our partners at the Department of Education (DepEd), we standardized nutrition modules that would make the work of teachers easier and expand the program's coverage.

* Based on the FNRI's 2015 study entitled "The Philippine Nutrition: Facts and Figures 2015."

Addressing Malnutrition Through Nutrition Education

Established in 2013, NWC is a continuing joint program by Nestlé Philippines and the DepEd involving 12 million grade school and high school students in the NCR, CALABARZON, Bicol, Eastern Visayas, Negros Island Region, Central Visayas, Eastern Visayas, Northern Mindanao, and Davao Regions in 2025.

The program, reaching almost 59% of public grade school and junior high school students in the country, educates the students and their parents on how to live a healthy life, by choosing healthier food and drink options and physical activity all year round.

Our Nestlé Wellness Campus Initiatives

This S. Y. 2025 - 2026, the Nestlé Wellness Campus program implemented three banner components:

Nutrition education materials for students, parents, and teachers

With NWC's Healthy Habits as a guide and in coordination with the DepEd (in keeping with its Curriculum Guide for Health, Grades 1 to 10), we developed nutrition education modules for teachers to use containing guides, sample worksheets, and class presentations. A total of 10 modules (1 module per grade level) and 80 lessons across grade levels in nutrition education were developed for use for grades 1 to 10. These lessons were patterned on DepEd’s learning competencies for Health.

NWC Dancercise

A custom NWC “dancercise” was cascaded to the 26,000 public schools. With a combination of dance and exercise, public school students and faculty start their day in a fun and healthy way.

NWC inter-school, inter-division, and inter-region competition

NWC inter-school, inter-division, inter-region competitions were organized. Participating schools showcased how they implemented and integrated the NWC-taught Healthy Habits in their school programs to better engage their students. The top schools from the different competitions were awarded prizes packages equivalent to their final rankings.
