Making good food available and affordable

We ensure the availability of nutritious and tasty food through efficient distribution nationwide, to enable access to Good food, Good life. And with Filipino consumers facing significant economic challenges, we spare no effort to maximize product affordability, such as avoiding price adjustments when we possibly can, even with the rising costs of ingredients and scarce supplies.

Providing nutritious and delicious products

Micronutrient deficiencies of iron, vitamin A, zinc and iodine are common, especially among the vulnerable age groups of schoolchildren, pregnant women, and the elderly. Their long-term health suffers. To help them directly, we fortify our products with these much-needed micronutrients. In 2022 alone, we delivered 26 billion fortified product servings, or more than 71 million each day.

Nutrition Programs

Teaching proper nutrition, health, and fitness habits for wellness

Our Nestlé Wellness Campus (NWC) is a nationwide program that we are implementing in partnership with the Department of Education. Launched more than 10 years ago, NWC now reaches some 11 million grades 1-10 students in 20,000 public schools, teaching them sound nutrition and health habits including fitness. They are also taught good solid waste management for a healthy environment in which they can thrive. Structured learning modules are integrated into school curricula, to instill daily, life-long personal practices that will serve the children in good stead, helping them to avoid future health conditions like obesity, diabetes, and cardiovascular disease.

Research

Collaboration to improve people’s well-being

For years, Nestlé Philippines and the Department of Science and Technology (DOST), with its agencies such as the Food and Nutrition Research Institute (FNRI), have engaged in a fruitful partnership. Landmark achievements include conducting the deeper analysis of the National Nutrition Survey to understand eating behavior through the Feeding Infant and Toddler Studies, Kids Nutrition Health Study, and Silver Atlas; and efficacy studies to clinically prove impact of products and programs. Nestlé is also included in the OneLab Network since 2021 under which we offer a standard and testing laboratory.

Our products and programs are backed by global and local nutrition research expertise. Our global Research and Development organization is the largest in the food and beverage industry.

Caring for our people and their families, championing diversity, equity, and inclusion

Nestlé Philippines prioritizes diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) with a gender-neutral parental policy and comprehensive health benefits covering various relationships. Achieving 50-50 gender parity in management positions, we address unconscious gender bias through training. Collaborating with the Employer’s Confederation of the Philippines and the International Labor Organization, we provide soft skills training for women on the shop floor. Youth development programs, reaching over 150,000 Filipino youths in five years, aim to expand support in partnership with the Department of Education.

Recognized by the UN Global Compact Network Philippines (UN GCNP) and the Personnel Management Association of the Philippines (PMAP), Nestlé Philippines has received the SDG People Award for corporate sustainability efforts and the Employer of the Year Award, respectively. These accolades acknowledge our commitment to employee welfare and advancing DEI in the workplace.
